Marilyn has made numerous presentations as a public speaker on the Marriage Penalty and other disability issues. 

As a result, the State Memorial 47 was introduced in the NM Legislative Session 2007 and passed with no opposing votes.  

The intent was to request to remove the penalty associated with being a married individual with a disability receiving supplemental security income benefits. 

This Memorial is just the beginning as Marilyn continues to positively influence and change things for all people with disabilities.
